So, yesterday was a great day!
Me and Andreea got on the train to Broadstairs from C'bury with..guess what...4 bags: one with shoes, another one with clothes, the third one with dresses and the last one with make-up and other accessories. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her with all those bags. She wasn't kidding when she said that she is excited and wants to do it!! People at the train station were looking at us very weird but we found that very funny.
On the train, it took us 20 min to get to Broadstairs. Andreea started to tell me all sorts of stories of hers which made my morning as they were very funny. Imagine 2 girls in the train with lots of bags, laughing so hard at 7 in the morning. It was hilarious!!
I had a backpack with things and my laptop as well but I tried to help her as much as possible with the bags when we got off the train! Honestly, it was hilarious! Then, we had to take the bus. Part 2: imagine 2 girls with lots of stuff sitting on the first 2 chairs of the bus. It was then when we were given looks, especially because we were talking other language as well. It was so funny!!
Next things to do, go to Tesco to buy all the food possible to be enough for the whole day for 2 people. Yes, we went to Tesco with all the bags. Guess what, after we finished shopping, we had 2 more bags. HAHA
I thought we were never gonna get to uni. Got there, found out that there was already someone else in there but everything was sorted out as the receptionist went to the studio and kicked him out (he pretended to have booked the studio when I was the one who booked it..Shame on him!!!)
So.. the moment of truth..Andreea started to do her make up..It took ageeees ! I thought that she would never finish with it!! In the meantime, I looked on the internet for some more inspiration, of course. In the end, the wait paid off as she looked gorgeous. She had a flawless skin and her make up was really good. The thing is, only then it took like an hour for the make up as for the next outfits she only had to change some things not the whole make-up so it was fine with me. I didn't want to rush her to ruin everything.
Before doing her make-up, we chose the outfit, then she did her make-up and then her hair. I was speechless! She looked soo goood!! I made my setup with the lights and all that and then checked the light, did all the settings and off we went.
Here are some photos with the setting:
So, I only used the beauty dish coming from her right, and then I used those 2 fake walls because I didn't want my background to be white. I wanted those shades of grey plus I wanted the shadows. The floor part of the background is not straight in the images but I saw it after a while and managed to pull it to make it straight. I didn't use a tripod as I didn't need one, it wouldn't have been handy. Unfortunately, I couldn't borrow the 50 mm from Gavin as it was already booked. What a shameee!
For the first 3 outfits we took our time till we
realized it was already 1 and we had the studio booked till 4. When we looked at the time and saw it was 1 we started to speed up. I was so lucky she knew how to do her make-up with every outfit and also her hair. Every time she had to do that, I was literally staring at her because she was so beautiful and she had such a gorgeous profile. She did everything in her powers to speed up with her make up and hair which I really appreciated.
We managed in the end to finish 5 outfits, unfortunately but it's better than nothing. We did our best! Towards the end she was tired and at some point she didn't know how to pose anymore but we managed to do it in the end. I helped her with the poses, gave her some ideas, I tried to help as much as possible.
4 o'clock and we were out of the studio, exhausted. Who says that being a photographer is an easy job is nuts. Being in the studio all day long shooting is not that easy! We managed to get home safe and sound, both of us were in pain but we went to bed as soon as possible.
So now I have to find another day when I am free to do the rest of the photos. Hmm..
